Chief of Staff privacy policy

What the Chief of Staff app does with Google account data, where that data is kept, and how its access is taken away.

Published

This policy is dated October 25, 2026.

Chief of Staff is a personal assistant app. Jacques Thibodeau built it and runs it for himself on his own Macs. He is its only user. Nobody else can sign in to it or use it.

What the app does with Google

The app signs in to Jacques’s own Google account. With that sign-in it does these things on his behalf:

  • It reads and sends his Gmail.
  • It reads and changes events in his Google Calendar.

The sign-in also lets it see his basic Gmail settings, such as his email signature.

Where the data is kept

Everything the app reads is stored on Jacques’s own computers. It is never sent to anyone else, never sold, and never used to train anything.

The app never deletes mail permanently. When it removes an email, the email goes to Trash, where Gmail keeps it for 30 days.

Google’s rules

Chief of Staff’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Ending the app’s access

Jacques can disconnect the app at any time, either from the app itself or from the permissions page of his Google account. Disconnecting ends the sign-in and removes the app’s access to his account.
